Every step generates another step. The force that is put into the wheel is given back, due to it’s weight. This creates the conditions for a perpetual stumble.
In musical terms the object would be best categorized as a percussion instrument. As the wheel rolls on it’s base, the steel thuds and the wood creaks. The repetitional turning causes somewhat of a heartbeat to emerge.
